BiruNya, our exquisite creation, embodies the essence of Peranakan heritage through a carefully curated blend of artistry and symbolism. The captivating shade of blue chosen for BiruNya represents the iconic Bunga Telang (Butterfly Pea), a symbolic flower deeply rooted in Peranakan culture. This hue mirrors the rich tones found in traditional batik fabrics, capturing the cultural vibrancy of the community.

Every Miyuki seed glass bead adorning BiruNya was meticulously selected and sewn by hand, ensuring a harmonious complement to the intricate pattern while infusing an element of elegance and sparkle into the design.

The three roses embellishing the design hold a special significance to the artist, representing three generations of Peranakan women—her grandmother, mother, and herself. The inspiration behind these roses stems from cherished memories of her grandmother's garden, where Butterfly Pea blossomed. Recalling her memories, the process of plucking and sun-drying the flowers for culinary use, these memories serve as a tribute to her grandmother's enduring influence, even after her passing.
